Five Habit of A Successful Leader That Defies Traditional Management: If ever there was time to talk about leadership quality in history, it is now because the world is facing a leadership crisis.

A leader is one with great responsibility and must be morally upright to carry the vision of an organization or a group and regulate the direction on how to achieve a predetermined goal.

Leadership transcends being highly intelligent; a highly skilled executive could be promoted into a leadership position and failed at the job, and someone with not extraordinary intellectual abilities will be promoted into a similar position and then perform excellently and soared. It is observed that high emotional intelligence shows itself on the job then the effective performance which is the traditional system of management of technical skill and IQ.

The component of emotional intelligence attributes of a leader that possibly actualize success of a business will be discussed in this article but first and foremost the quality of a leader can be analyzed as follows.

  • A leader has a vision: a dynamic leadership always fired by vision, it a comprehensive sense of where you are going, how you are going to get there, and what you will do when you get there.
  • A leader has a discipline: continual success in life or our business cannot be achieved without discipline, it the basic life tool to solve life problems without it we can solve nothing.
  • A leader has wisdom: wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge and experience to any given situation. Knowledge gives you the fact you need to know so that you don’t get freeze in decision making. As a leader, you have to develop your power of insight.
  • A leader has courage: Courage is doing what you are afraid to do, there can be no courage when you are scared. A leader lead from the front not from the rear. As a leader, you should dear to take the business risk.
  • A leader has humility: one of the surest evidence of greatness is humility. As a leader, you must listen carefully to your workers that is what makes them feel important and is the best way to show respect. Careful listening shows that a leader has humility.

Having these attributes or qualities above of a leader, a leader will be able to achieve its objective and set goals. Research has shown that most successful leaders are leaders with humble dispositions who are likely to be attached to emotional intelligence.

Humble leaders allow other people to have the spotlight. When you listen more than you speak as a leader, there is something more liberating about this approach.

Instead of always wanting your views and opinion to be supreme to any counter-opinion or suggestion in a group or being so authoritative in instructing employees in a way that weaken their zeal and motivation to work, humble leaders approach people with an unexpected little question that will inspire them and stir up their creativity: can I have your opinion on this issue and get your feedback?

There is an old proverb that goes like this: Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in the abundance of counselors, there is victory.

A leader with loyal followers or employees can seek advice and opinion trusted inner circle of mentors that can teach them, keep them on track, and move them in the right direction. Nobody knows it all in the field of leadership.

2. They Are Teachable:

Humble leaders in a healthy organization gladly accept the role of learners because it will make them better. In leadership you cannot be an embodiment of knowledge, other people have something important to teach you as a leader.

Humble leaders lead with integrity and dignity, refusing to cut corners, and will speak the truth. They are not deceptive and don’t say things to sugarcoat, they don’t betray themselves or others by using words or making decisions that are not aligned with who they are.

This gives them a great reputation because of the personality they have maintained to work with others. When they make promises they do everything possible to fulfill them.

This built confidence in the employees or group as a leader, when confidence is built it motivates staff to work and the reliability to achieve success is guaranteed.

A true leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way, leadership does not only involve knowing where you are going but also how to effectively work with people.

A better way to encourage the culture of a humble leader is by practicing it yourself and take the lead in every activity or project, shine the spotlight on your team member or employees for delivering a tough project. Praise and compliment people for their work, by this you reinforce the value that distinguishes humble leadership.

A leader helps people to be successful in their jobs.do everything within your reach as possible as you can in helping your team to achieve their goal. You can encourage extra courses and training and also send your group or employees to seminars for continuous improvement “rather than static perfection “.

Employees are more willing to intrinsically follow leaders looking to build them up and help them to flourish in their roles.

Success in life depends upon the support and help of others people. No one makes it alone. A successful relationship is based on mutual respect, recognize your self-worth and the self-worth of others.

Once you have invested in close relationships and building trust over time, this makes the team members feel like they have invested in the business and put in their best to the growth and betterment of the business or any project.

When people take ownership of their work like they are business partners, employee satisfaction soars. They become loyal followers.

Building a relationship with your employees is only made possible with a leader that has taken on the approach of humility as a leader. Proud and arrogant leaders find it difficult to operate on this bases of leader and employee relationship. This does not create an atmosphere of effective productivity.

Interesting things happen when we apply the humble approach. It opens us up to possibilities. We choose open-mindedness and curiosity over protecting our point of view. We become more willing to learn from what others have to offer. We forget about being perfect and better enjoy being in the moment. It also improves relationships, reduces anxiety, and enhances one’s self-confidence. There’s a clear competitive advantage in mastering humility.
